This is such a great reference to prep my art fundamentals up and feeling like going back to college life! What is abstract art, what is form, what is color, what is line and what is shape…Answers to it all with discussion on famous work from all over the world.

I have always been interested in pattern design and fantasized I could major in this or Illustration. Now I want to work on it again and get myself immersed with print design. Everywhere in our daily life is pattern: tiles, clothing, wall paper, flooring, magazines, stationery…etc! I will create!

It’s the 1st Joyce Meyer book I have after listening to her non-stop over the podcast. Originally I want to buy another book of hers called Living Beyond Your Feelings, but ended up with this! It’s pretty good as there are lots of scriptural references and it uses many real life example to illustrate how it works for us all in our daily lives.

This books reminds my art school life back in the 90s. Art is so abstract yet so closely knitted to us in every aspect, and the concepts it quote is simple but eternal. The 1st one is “Art can be anything.”

I fancy to be an architect when I was choosing major at college, and I got frightened I might not cope with it and drop the idea. Such a shame. But this book leads me to feel a bit closer to the thinking of an architect. The 101 things it mentioned: “Architects are late bloomers.” and the illustration next to it is Zaha Hadid! It says “Most architects do not hit their professional stride until around age 50!” This is quite encouraging in the sense that we always fancy success at early stage, we want early retirement, we are jealous of broker, investment banker who can play golf without worrying office hours coz they retired and they are only 39. But this book reaffirms us that it takes time to build buildings and expertise and a career.

I have had several books of this author 周国平 and likes his philosophy. This is a book collection of his quotes which could make it easier for you to understand him.

It’s not my first Paul Arden book, and I picked this one from our studio’s book shelf. It’s short, precise and insightful. The book title says it all.

Neil Strauss’ books are super interesting although he is targeting to male audiences. This is a very useful book for personal improvement in a very light-hearted yet motivating way!

This is an excellent book on how to think and get our system streamlined to become better.

I am more than excited about Winifred’s 2nd book. I have only started one page by now (7 March, 2011) but I want to take it slow, I want to take the time to taste her experience and things she like to capture. She considers this book as Power Object, and I want to do such thing in my life as well. Just feel lucky that in this world there are still many passionate people all thinking of their own ways of making a difference. Lets strive.

Cheuk Wan Chi is rather iconic to me, she is very daring and bold and glad to know that she made the move to further her studies in UK instead of continuing her broadcasting career, as I do believe there is quite a bit in her that she could achieve. Thus I have bought these 2 books to learn more about her stories in London.

I found this book near the Mother House book store, and I could not put the book down ever since I start reading it. It tells all the story about the things I see in Kolkata. It brings back all the moments during my stay there.

I am absolutely moved and motivated by Nick Vujicic’s latest release of his book Life Without Limits. He broadens my horizon and heart. Peace be with Nick!

This is my latest favorite as winnifred has indeed brought me back a lo of the memories from the 80s.

This book “The Catcher in the Rye” I have been reading for a while only and been totally drawn to it…have not had such experience for a while already, the last one I recalled it’s probably “A Million Little Pieces” by James Frey.

I love OMG, Lock the Locks and We can never be friends. Fab lyrics.

Her voice is stunning as usual, Someone Like You abuses my ‘repeat’ button at the iPod.

Her voice is the same like 20 years ago when she was still Frente! Awesome.

Explicit Lyrics

The Bird & The Bee
