What keeps you afloat?

Yesterday my church’s sermon is about kindness, and my church started off playing a video done by Life Vest Inside – watch it here, the video has gained over 5.2 million views. Funny that 350 people dislike the video though… The video and pastor’s sermon actually reminded me what I read before Rick Warren – Senior Pastor of Saddleback Church has helped paid a guy’s supermarket item like a bag of ice and the good deed just become viral and it spreads.  And I read that the CEO Tony Hsieh of Zappos (the greatest online store in the States) has gotten helped by a stranger I think again it’s a supermarket time LOL, that this stranger asked for his return that the CEO would do the same to another complete stranger. Kindness is a simple smile, a simple gesture, I was reading further the mission statement of Life Vest Inside, it says “By creating an exciting and accessible kindness experience, we will become more aware of the opportunities that surround us and recognize our potential to change the world, simply by changing ourselves.” It’s so true, that when we create something for the others, we are re-creating our life and what could happen to us. When you are given a glass of water when you are thirsty, you are staying Godly.
Daily Quote
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.
Proverbs 25:21
I pray to God that we would keep kindness in our heart and in our action.

positive posters

Further to some philanthropic thoughts I spoke about yesterday regarding the pay-as-you-feel restaurant in Melbourne, something nice about this Down Under country in Melbourne is the Positive Poster initiative. It started in 2009 by a designer to give a chance to all people to create a poster of their own, with the goal that it must include a message which is positive and uplifting. The winner’s design will be posted up in everywhere of Melbourne (4,000 copies in total) and a few out of the country to be featured in related exhibition. It’s the viral impact that it is imposing on people’s minds and the chance to create something out of nothing that makes the whole thing interesting. God gives us a chance to do something anytime and anywhere. It’s really up to us if we want to spare that kind of time to see what further He has planned for us. When some unfortunate ones are fighting to live, let’s show our gratitude by living our lives to the fullest. Stay positive and faithful – trust in God that He would provide.

Daily Quote
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
Psalm 20:7

I pray to God that He keeps motivating us in all ways and I will trust in Him to walk the path which appears to be unknowingly vague, but He is my light.

love spreads

Colleague sent me a links from National Geographic which they based on the global population of 7 billion people and developed a piece of art and infographic which I find tremendously interesting. Click here to view. 1 face represents a million people in this world, and 7000 people’s face altogether made up of this human face! And there are statistics of how these 7 billion people’s data could be interpreted! Like % of language these people speak, their literacy proportion…what I quickly zooms in to find out is about religion split. It’s really great that from this study, 33% of the people are Christian. I totally think this is a good figure, of course church people think there are a whole lot of room for improvement to make the pie goes bigger to Christianity. It’s really interesting, and what I notice is that, this face which is trying to depict the world’s population demographics, is an Asian face. I think it’s translating to me that there huge possibilities we could create in China especially building the path for non-believers to be exposed to our Lord the ultimate God.

Daily Quote
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

I pray to God that we will be motivated to spread His message and love to everyone alike, believers and non-believers.

Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.

TED

best friend told me about her meeting with a social entrepreneur from Ireland recently and how inspired she got, plus she referred me to a digital platform called ideas worth spread at ted.com. And colleague told me she has been listening to their podcast for over 3 years from now (what is featured at this site used to be paid feature, and only not long ago they made it available to ALL for FREE!!) …and how come it took me this long to know this site! LOL! So, i m sure you guys might know of this, but still some may not, i totally think this is a site worth exploring as you would be seeing numerous inspirational spirits sharing their insights on how they pursue their dreams and goals, influencing the world around us with their so limited resources, but their passion is fierce.  It’s like what our Bible has told us…some character mentioned there are deadly persistent and faithful.

Daily Quote
Elias was a subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

James 5:17-18

I pray that I do not let other discourage or erode my conviction in God and His words, just carry on and keep going.

not only a food TV series

last night, during the time when it’s showing my mom’s favorite food TV show “So Far So Good”…i thought i heard something strange?! it’s not about food!!! i heard from the living room, this TV host Ah So was actually quoting Psalms 23 during the TV show!! [I was listening only in my room] then i dashed out to the living room and saw the next thing showing she introduced an old man who did not have a chance when he was young and only learn to write with his hand / water and the soil on the ground…and nowadays, his house is full of his calligraphy – the master piece look-like ones all hanging on his wall! and he is a pious christian today, and he dedicated his gifted calligraphy skills writing out the bible phrase…such as the Psalms! i m astonished by how much this christian TV host is willing to bring all the non-believers the news and words of God. in way that are interesting and gentle! At the end, i asked my mom if she knows the host is a christian…she cutely rolled her eye and said “yes i know and she is like you!” HAHAHA!

Daily Quote

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
But do this with gentleness and respect.

1 Peter 3:15
I pray in the Name of God that He will let His words run in my heart, mind and soul and I will live out His message in my daily life.
