YES

I just got to know my favorite motivational speaker Nick Vujicic got married and it’s like a week ago! This is one of the most fantastic and fascinating thing to know. Nick is born without limbs and I remember when he was speaking in HK, he moved me tremendously with his power, charisma and most of all – his complete reliance on God. He made fun of himself and his ‘happening’ and just tell us how lucky he has been and all those of us who are born with more than himself, should be thankful. I bought his DVD and notice many times he mentioned he hope one day, he will be able to be find his love one and get married, just like so many of us do. He speaks with sincere hope and truly believe God will pave way and decide. And in a few years time, he found his girl and she is extremely beautiful! Click here to see more. God has demonstrated to us all, believe – and you will receive. Nick & Kanae, I wish you both all the very best and continue to manifest the God-like life incessantly. Say YES to Lord!

Daily Quote
Have faith in God, Jesus answered. I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Mark 11:22-24

I pray to God that I will have zero doubt in Him and trust Him completely.

stoned-heart

I read from the newspaper that there is this heart shape ‘land’ dimensioned of 7x6m made of small stones specks in a local beach at Ma On Shan. It’s man-made. Who made it? It’s done by a retired uncle, every day between 10am to 4pm he would work non-stop by cleaning the beach and bring forth the stones to make sure the heart shape is maintained because the high and low tide would cause the water to blur the heart shape and flushing trash to the heart, so he has to work on it every single day. This is a completely self-initiated ‘project’ and whenever this uncle sees people taking photos with this heart-land, some couples take their wedding photos here – he feel accomplished and happy. After reading the piece, I am completely stunned that someone in Hong Kong in 2012 would spend the time to do something that needs so much physical labor which in most people’s standard or definition, would be seemingly so ‘useless’, for so many years! The heart-land took 2.5 years to build, and after the construction, requires every day work to make it in shape. He refused to reveal his name to the reporter, and just said: a person’s hard work is many people’s joy. When he said that, there are people laughing next to his ‘heart’. This uncle is rewarded in a way not many of us would experience or understand. When you believe in something for a good cause, carry on and God will empower you to move on.

Daily Quote
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:3-4

I pray to God that I will trust in God and do not stay conformed but transformed.

Faith has to do with things that are not seen, and hope with things that are not in hand.

let the dragon roar

It’s the 1st day of Chinese New Year today – wish you all a very prosperous and auspicious year of the Dragon! Saw soo many fortune tellers forecasting each sign’s fortune for this year on TV, my curiosity drove my ears closer when my sign’s commentaries are announced…SORRY GOD! It’s just so interesting to see what they speak about you making you all think it’s so accurate and specific. I know this is a long standing art and culture – but when you think deeper all things they quote are universal such as: drive more carefully, beware when you are in the water, there could be another person getting in your relationship so be patient with your partner, an opposite gender would give you a lift in your career, mind the big mouth and so careful what you do etc etc. These are all time, life long ‘wisdom’ day in and day out no matter where you are and what you do. I am sure everyone is wise enough to understand this but we just all want to know the ‘future’ in advance. We want to feel prepared and secured. But we forget the utmost important rule of thumb is that if you are following the truth & path – which God has commanded, then we all would arrive at the same destination – the eternal land of God. It’s just our process will differ, but we will land our feet at the very same place, so basically we know our future already. Happy New Year!

Daily Quote
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8

I pray to God that I will rely on Him and trust that He will give me the best, if I obey, follow and submit.

Postscript Quote
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

what it takes to persist

Recently I have been obsessed with watching TED – the global conference which holds the mission of “ideas worth spreading” and people from different discipline would speak about things they believe worth spreading. I have been watching many many conferences now and people are just amazing, and you would feel so tiny while you watch what they were just saying in a simple 10 or 15 minutes what they do for life. One lady who is currently creator large enormous size art exhibit worldwide, told the audience she was rejected 7 times getting into 7 art schools and thereafter, she just started to draw on her own for 10 years continuously, and then she went around traveling and finding inspiration for things she aspire to produce. A lot of times, we are told by the society, family or close peers different things in our lives like what you should study, what you should do for profession, who you should not hang out with, who you should not consider to marry, what you are good at, what you are bad in etc. People just like to comment on other people’s lives and we ultimately got really confused and lost. If we can just hold on to just that little faith that Jesus has in God when he has to take up the cross on the road, just like Abraham when being asked to surrender his son Issac to God, just like Mary believing there is God and being the virgin mother is a holy mission, they all truly believe in what is righteous to do and thus persist. How amazing faith is and if you are lacking that faith or you are wanting more, you need to pray for that.

Daily Quote
This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,

Romans 3:22

I pray to God that I will hold onto the faith I have in Him and He would give me strength and power to persevere.

are you alright?

Yesterday I was moaning at the office as a new client has asked me to revise the contract to the Nth times in both English and Chinese and arranging numerous hard copies to be sent to their office, the back and forth has persisted for weeks, it’s testing my patience so much. And then over the instant messaging dialog box, my colleague sent me the attached image.  The illustration is more than thoughtful but really bring out the kindness, caring spirit of Jesus. I was speechless when I look at the image, all things I see and encounter is so minor coz He has taken up most of them. No matter what you are facing, I hope this will lift you up and motivate you to persevere further! He has a plan for you!

Daily Quote
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

I pray to God that I remember His protection is upon us wherever I go.

in the long run

For a while our studio has been doing different things to make changes so that we could evolve into the form the way we want people perceive us which is a truly authentic branding consultancy instead of just a graphic design studio. One of the little step we do is commissioning a PR specialist to work on our press communication such as developing press kit, press release and client testimonial and case study. It’s quite a lot of work to do and taking the courage to be very transparent about the way we do things here. What the PR suggests might not be the things we do or we want to do, but could be beneficial to us in the long run e.g. taking portrait shots for each of the member here at the studio and even film us in some ways to compose a short film so people know us as in not just the work we do, but the people behind the scene. It’s quite similar to how God treat us, He will want you to do things you may not be keen to do or have thought to do, but in the long run, it’s for our best benefits. If we trust Him and His arrangement enough, we would take the bigger step and stride. But one thing that is different is that: what He has promised is guaranteed to be positive, but things in life may not be promising all the time, but if we still trust the earthly things we do or believe, how come we don’t trust Him? It’s a bit ironic when I look things in retrospect.

Daily Quote
For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David. Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.
Psalm 62:1

I pray to God that I will trust Him in every single way, each and every moment.

gone fishing

One of the biggest local university has sent my studio a tender for one of the school program’s promotional poster series in the fall. It’s a very thick document outlining all the requirements and specifications, while my team was reviewing the deck, the scope is not difficult at all, so simple that it becomes a tender is surprising. However, one more thing that is brow-raising is that this school has a very good design faculty and we are wondering why they are not bringing the students’ talent to work on the project and thus become a self-promoting mechanism to tell the public how good their work could be, and also saving on the budget and most importantly, letting the student take ownership in promoting a place where they would grow and graduate. Jesus teaches his disciples to fish but not just providing them the food they need. The teaching biosphere in HK still has a huge room to improve!

Daily Quote
Jesus said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.

John 21:6

I pray that the authority would accumulate wisdom to groom the young ones!

If you give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a life time.

trust in?

Last night I was working a bit later than normal coz some technical issues with the printer’s FTP detained me and my intern at the studio – I was in a rush and my intern was starving, and I kept on bugging my intern to see if the uploading was done properly yet so we could dash and run. But the intern said she has to wait for printer’s confirmation…and after another while, I hear no phone ringing and nothing we could do…I haggled my intern again and making her to bug the printer again…she turned her head and starred at me with her cute sparkling eyes, she said “the printer said he would call me..I trust him!” WOW! I love the way she said it – I trust him. How many times I lose trust in people and situations, and of course God, I always bug Him and doubting Him if He is going to give me what I want. Of course He would, and I should just let Him control it, I am a control freak in this sense. I just want to control the steering wheel to make it turn the way I want, but I forget I am not the driver, He is. So, I should stop being the backseat driver and do what I should do instead…

Daily Quote
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Psalm 56:3

I pray to God that I do not forget that He has His unfailing love for me, and He would only only gives me the best. What I don’t get is not right.

healing begins here

i started my 1st of the 9 lecture about Healing conducted & taught by my pastor at church last night! it’s totally enriching and mind-opening as there are heaps of scripture references and discussions! as many of you might know, i m terribly deficient and behind on my bible study…and this lecture is helping me lots in terms of the understanding of the Holy Bible and Jesus’ teachings and actions when He was alive. Getting continuous studies is sooo important to one’s being and growth…without bringing new knowledge to our life, life is stagnant. i feel so blessed that God has motivated me to go as i almost almost choose to stay at work and doing something else instead of committing myself to this 9 weeks meaning course. i can see tremendous work and preparation my pastor has done – God is speaking to me again through this blessed channel.

Daily Quote
Choose my instruction instead of silver, knowledge rather than choice gold

I pray that God will give us the wisdom to wisely execute our freedom of life – to do things we should do.

home sweet home

i went to Sheung Shui, New Territories side of HK to prepare meals for a place called “Home of Loving Faithfulness”. It’s a non-profit Christian charity house giving life-long home to severely handicapped children who are abandoned. I say ‘life-long’ as one of the member had stayed with this home until now when she is 60 years old. The English lady who is 1 of the founder is already 80 but she behaves like late 60s to me only. What she told us is amazing to us as they never have enough money or resources to do anything, never. But they just persist and have faith in God and things will take care on its own naturally and till now…since 1962 for nearly 50 years. One more thing, i can’t imagine why these kids or members of the Homes with all those disability they have could have those smiles they had on their face. Some of them, just smile all the way, if they could, do all of us who are healthy have a reason to sulk and be mad about things that appear so ‘small’ any more?

Daily Quote
Not to us, O Lord, but to your Name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
Psalm 115:1

I pray that God will put faith in my life that I will put Him above all.
